Will you go, lassie go, an' we'll all go together To pluck wild mountain thyme, all around the bloomin' heather Where the deer and the rae, lightly bounding together, Sport the long summer day on the braes o' Balquhither. I will twine thee a bower by yon clear siller fountain, And I'll cover it o'er by' the flow'rs o' the mountain. I will range through the wilds, through the deep glens so drearie, And return wi' their spoils to the bower o' my dearie. When the rude wintry wind idly rages oe'r our dwelling, And the roar o' the linn o'er the night-breeze is swelling, So merrily we'll sing, as the storm rages o'er us, Till the dean sheiling ring wi' the light lilting chorus. Now the summer time is come and the trees are sweetly bloomin' And the wild mountain thyme ah the moorland's perfumin' So will you go, lassie go, an' we'll all go together To pluck wild mountain thyme, all around the bloomin' heather Will you go?

I'm so glad you're here. I just wanted to say, you don't seem like yourself, these days. You say you're walkin' in circles, and lost in the fog. But I promise things they'll get better. Honey don't give up! Cause I'll be your North Star ablaze in the sky so lift your head and dry your eyes. Honey look and this beacon will shine and I'll know you'll find your way. You'll be fine. I'm so glad you're here and you're being so brave. You seem so far away, these days. You say that you hold the world on your shoulders and you're ashamed of who you are. But I promise things they'll get better. Honey don't give up! Cause I'll be your North Star ablaze in the sky so lift your head and dry your eyes. Honey look and this beacon will shine and I'll know you'll find your way. You'll be fine. I don't shine as bright as some other stars do, but I promise I'll shine on true just for you. I'm so proud that you've come this far, honey don't give up! Cause I'll be your North Star ablaze in the sky, so lift your head and dry your eyes. Honey look and this beacon will shine and I'll know you'll find your way. I'll be your North Star ablaze in the sky. Lift your head and dry your eyes. Honey look and this beacon will shine and I'll know you'll find your way. You'lll be fine.

For you were and I was found, the day your good shop ran aground and foundered on this rock, my heart. The promised land, the lonely shore, the compass held your love secure, no dragons here upon your chart. The treasures cast upon the strand, I wove a bangle for your hand, of coral, shell and precious stone. The endless beach, the craggy form, the lighthouse shelter in the storm. Our hearts would burst where fear had flown. Send me home again. Take me away to that time again, back to that day. A hundred dreams were washed away, a dozen more were made that day. You hauled the boats and watched them burn. The carcass covered by the tide, for love was born where one had died The rocks remain there's no return. The winter's blast has given way to bloom of spring and summer's day and stars that blaze that blaze the summer night. A forest house, a mountain home, together in the woods we'd roam, the flowers and birds we've named them right. Send me home again, take me away to that time again, back to that day. Send me home again, take me away to that time again, back to that day.

I don't feel the way I need to feel, to walk down the aisle that day. I never meant to break your heart, I know it hurts but you'll be OK. You'll make someone real happy someday. And no I haven't been lying, or taking advantage of you. And no there isn't someone else, and there's nothing you can do. This gold band so heavy in my hand, it doesn't mean enough to me You can't see it yet, but I promise you it's for the best Sorry hon' but you're not the one. I've got a bag packed so I guess I'd better go. Please don't try to kiss me as I leave. I hate that your folks were right about us, but I'd rather be wrong and happy. Didn't you once say that to me? There are 50 green place cards that I'll throw out one by one. And I know you wanna change my mind, but nothing can be done. This gold band so heavy in my hand, it doesn't mean enough to me. You can't see it yet, but I promise you it's for the best. Sorry hon', but you're not the one for me. So I'll cry for seven days straight; you'll pack up, move interstate. You'll call the church and I'll return the gifts and those dreams we had together. We'll set adrift. And no I haven't been lying, or taking advantage of you. And no there isn't someone else, and there's nothing you can do. This gold band so heavy in my hand, it doesn't mean enough to me You can't see it yet, but I promise you it's for the best Sorry hon' but you're not the one.

Driving down the north coast road, golden oldies playing on our radio. We'll take it fast and we'll take it slow, and we'll keep smiling every step that we go. The sun is shining streamin' through, through our open window. The Erin Isles and me and you, they say we're foolish but what would they know? What would they know? We'll see our folks in County Down, and we'll swear our fealty to that town. The place where our kindred spirits roam, Norn Iron our home away from home. Where giants run across the sea, icy waves crash below. FInn MacCool and you and me, they say we're foolish but what would they know? What would they know? Boxty in the griddle boxty in the pan if you can't make boxty you'll never get a man! We'll see our folks in County Down, and we'll swear our fealty to that town. The place where our kindred spirits roam, Norn Iron our home away from home. Home away from home, home away from home.

If it were to fall apart, I'd gather up the pieces of your broken heart If you told him what you had done I'd still be your shoulder And if he wanted you to stay well you know I'd be happy for you anyway If he wanted you to go, I could have told you so. You didn't heed the signs and little by little crept over the line. The night went on and you got pissed. You liked the attention and couldn't resist. You're the moth too close to the flame and I knew what would happen when temptation came and you, you couldn't say no. I could have told you so. His heart waited for so long, for someone to trust that now the trust is gone. And he won't forgive you just yet, he'll cry two tears for each one you shed. You're the moth too close to the flame. When he looks in your eyes will the love be the same? And you, you couldn't say no. And I should have told you so. You're the moth too close to the flame. and I knew what would happen when temptation came and you, you couldn't say no. But I should have told you so.

Somewhere, out on an empty plain, great girralang of stars, guide me home again. Milky Way, campfire of of light, old murramar, warm my dreams tonight. Sparks fly, on a canvas-black sky, Dreams rise, caught in the smoke of the fire, Birds cry in the shadowed trees And the laughter dies, on the summer breeze. lonely child, wandrin' wild old man, looks into the fire of this timeless land. Southern Cross turns away the sky, its heart never lost, is his compass high. Sparks fly, on a canvas-black sky, Dreams rise, caught in the smoke of the fire, Birds cry in the shadowed trees And the laughter dies, on the summer breeze. Heading West, beyond the shoreline's haze tracing dot-by-dot to the early days. City lights fade to an empty plain, as the light on the land shows his heart the way. Sparks fly, on a canvas-black sky, Dreams rise, caught in the smoke of the fire, Birds cry in the shadowed trees And the laughter dies, on the summer breeze.

There's a sunny Southern land, And it's there that I would be Where the big hills stand, In the South Countrie! When the wattles bloom again, Then it's time for us to go To the old Monaro country At the melting of the snow. To the East or to the West, Or wherever you may be, You will find no place Like the South Countrie. For the skies are blue above, And the grass is green below, In the old Monaro country At the melting of the snow. Now the team is in the plough, And the thrushes start to sing, And the pigeons on the bough Are rejoicing at the Spring. So come my comrades all, Let us saddle up and go To the old Monaro country At the melting of the snow.

Grey dawn on the sand-hills -- the night wind has drifted All night from the rollers a scent of the sea; With the dawn the grey fog his battalions has lifted, At the call of the morning they scatter and flee. Like mariners calling the roll of their number The sea-fowl put out to the infinite deep. And far over-head -- sinking softly to slumber -- Worn out by their watching, the stars fall asleep. To eastward, where resteth the dome of the skies on The sea-line, stirs softly the curtain of night; And far from behind the enshrouded horizon Comes the voice of a God saying "Let there be light." And lo, there is light! Evanescent and tender, It glows ruby-red where 'twas now ashen-grey; And purple and scarlet and gold in its splendour -- Behold, 'tis that marvel, the birth of a day!

Sunny morning the frost has glazed the air, shining river the mountains hang right there. The baker is a-yawning, there's coffee on the tray. He gives a shiver, another sunny day. It's my street, it's my town, it's my beat, it's my sound. Well Terry comes in early to drop his load of wood. Joanne says 'just leave it there', she knows it's dry and good. And a dozen jars of honey from the hills up on the farm, I swear that Joey's sweet on him, it really is no harm. It's the heartbeat on the corner for the people that I see, but If I blink I think I'm back in 1963. So I stir my cup of coffee, it's brown and cloudy sweet, like the photo on the counter of the cafe on the street. There's Joe and Gina smiling from the photo proud and straight. Gina looks as pretty as she did when I was eight. But Joanne pours the coffee now, it's a bakery cafe, and Sammy is the baker, how the years have slipped away. So we laugh and tell a story, afraid to break the spell But the coffee and the friendship are a-warm against the chill But the daylight is a pouring from the river through the town and tomorrow is a callin', we've got to shake it down. It's the heartbeat on the corner for the people that I see, but If I blink I think I'm back in 1963. It's my street, my town, it's my beat, it's my sound. It's my street, my town, it's my beat, my sound.

The dark clouds burst as you pull me close, our fingers intertwined, your lips pressed to mine. But I've been betrayed when I've let my guard down, so I don't wanna be too hasty. Will you wait for me? My wounds have healed but my scars remain, so I don't wanna be to hasty. Will you wait for me? Will you accept me and my history? My fancies and foibles and idiosyncracies? Will you wait 'til I'm ready? Will you wait for me? The rain it dissolves all our awkward glances leaving muddy footprints and slip'ry hands. We could drown in this perfect moment but I don't wanna be too hasty Will you wait for me? Will you accept me and my history? My habits and humours and peculiarities? Will you wait 'til I'm ready? Will you wait for me? The dark clouds burst as you pull me close, our fingers intertwined, your lips pressed to mine. But will you wait for me? Will you wait for me? Said I don't wanna be too hasty, will you wait for me?

Come all you Lachlan men and a sorrowful tale I'll tell The story of a decent man, who through misfortune fell. His name it was Ben Hall a man of high renown Who was hunted from his station and like a dog shot down For years he roamed the roads and he showed the traps some fun A thousand pound was on the head with Gilbert and Jack Dunn. Ben parted from his comrades the outlaws did agree To give away bushranging and cross the briny sea Ben went to Goobang Creek and that was his downfall, For riddled like a sieve was valiant Ben Hall. Twas early in the morning upon the fifth of May When the seven police surrounded him as fast asleep he lay Billy Dargin he was chosen to shoot the outlaw dead. The troopers then fired madly and filled him full of lead. They wrapped him in his blanket and strapped him to his prad And they led him through the streets of Forbes to show the prize they had.

She's just a girl at heart, just a girl at heart. The echidna girl has a taste for dance, for digging the night life and eating white ants, And a heart that beats for true romance beneath her coat of spines. A survivor of ice ages, fire and drought, she's a girl of today with a sensitive snout for rumours and latest gossip about, the fancy and the fine. She's just a girl at hear, just a girl at heart. She spends the winter curled in dreams of summers spent by limpid streams, and loving gentle monotremes and a puggle for her brood. Her spines are polished by the frost and like a fallen star that's lost she dances in the litter tossed, among the fallen wood. Dance your dreams, your great adventure in search of love your girlhood spent. Dance to the beat of the twenty-first century dance! Into the woods, the evening is falling to dig and to dance in the great forest sprawling, No need for bright lights the night life is calling, dance, dance, dance! Dance, dance dance! She knows that one day she'll be the queen of tacky glossies and silver screen, the pinup from ev'ry magazine a star! But tonight she's just an echidna girl, a beautiful moth about to unfurl, To dig and to dance and make the leaves swirl, she's just a girl at heart. Into the woods, the evening is falling to dig and to dance in the great forest sprawling, No need for bright lights the night life is calling, dance, dance, dance! Dance, dance dance! Dance, dance, dance!

Javier took me out on a date Dressed up to the nines I was feeling great! We met up with his friends from Mexico, But they spent the whole night speaking Espanole! Goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know? Goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know? The next one started out so well, As we talked and laughed and flirted how our feelings swelled. He took my hand looked deep into my eyes, said "You're so much hotter than my pregnant wife"! Goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know? Goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know? You'd think that I've learnt but I just keep getting burnt; goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know! One guy took me out on the town. I thought tonight's the night but I got let down. After that much beer you pretty much lose hope, it was like playing pool, with a rope. Goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know? Goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know? Then another young man caught my eye. He was sweet and smart and funny I thought what a guy. And later on he showed what he desired, but the gun went off before the target was acquired. Goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know? Goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know? You'd think that I've learnt but I just keep getting burnt goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know! Another took me to a fancy bar. As we chatted I thought "so good so far". I tell you he had promise by the load, until we made a stop on the way back home. The door was opened by a snot-faced man, he looked us up and down with pool cue in hand. What happened next ain't too hard to explain, turns out my date liked the smell of cocaine. Goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know? Goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know? You'd think that I've learnt but I just keep getting burnt. It goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know! You'd think that I've learnt but I just keep getting burnt it goes to show I sure can pick 'em don't you know!

Well at each gate each shearer stood as the whistle loudly blew, With eyebrows fixed and lips compressed the tigers all bent to You can hear the clicking of the shears as through the wool they glide See the gun already turned he's on the whipping side A lot of Lachlan tigers it's plain to see we are Hark to our burly ringer as he loudly calls for tar Tar here calls one and quick the tar girl flies Sweep those locks away another loudly cries The shed it is a lively scene and ought to be admired There hasn't been a better one since Jacky Howe expired Along the board the gaffer walks his face all in a frown And passing by the gun he says watch out me lads keep down For I must have those bellies clean and topknots too likewise My eyes are quick so watch your tricks or you'll go down like flies Oh curses on the gaffer he's never on our side To shear a decent tally here in vain I've often tried A lot of Lachlan tigers it's plain to see we are Hark to our burly ringer as he loudly calls for tar Tar here calls one and quick the tar girl flies Sweep those locks away another loudly cries For I've a pair of Ward and Payne's that are both bright and new I'll rig them up and let you see what I can really do For I've shore on the Riverine where they shear 'em by the score But such a mob as this to clip I've never saw before A lot of Lachlan tigers it's plain to see we are Hark to our burly ringer as he loudly calls for tar Tar here calls one and quick the tar girl flies Sweep those locks away another loudly cries Sweep those locks away another loudly cries
